I started experiencing "the flash bulb effect' that you described a few
months before I was diagnosed with TM and still get it occasionally. It
only lasts 15 - 30 minutes. It is very annoying but not painful. I
have been told it is an aura that sometimes precedes migraines so I
consider it a warning. The experience has not been connected with a
stressful situation but appears to be related to my monthly cycle. My
sister gets debilitating migraines each month so I consider myself lucky
(kind of).
