My Neuro stated that TM folks have a 50/50 shot at going on to develop
MS. And if you recover well from your initial TM attack your chances
are reduced for developing MS. I've never questioned that statement.
I'm closing in on my one year TM anniversary and so far there appears to
be just the one original t-5 lesion. I've come back from no use of my
legs to walking with a cane (mostly thanks to my baclofen pump.) He
also stated that original damage can take 18 months to "consolidate"
i.e. heal. It's during the healing process that the trouble can begin
as the electrical signal from the brain works around around the spinal
cord damage. I've heard this compared to rewiring the spinal cord.
