It's entirely possible. My son developed TM a week after receiving Varivax
vaccine (from Merck). Ryan has almost completely recovered. He is fifteen
months old.
Neither the FDA nor the CDC had any info about any relationship between the
vaccine and TM. However, I did find out that the CDC forwarded my inquiry
to a Dr. Sharrar at Merck. I later received a call from him. He confirmed
that Merck had two other cases of TM associated with their vaccine. He
declined to share any details with me. My contact at the CDC reported that
Merck declined to share their data with them either. Apparently they have
no obligation to do so.
I would suggest you contact the FDA and CDC and the pharmaceutical company.
Make no accusations - just seek your information. You can also file a VAERS
(Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System) report. You may try checking the
VICP (Vaccine Injury Compensation Program). The VICP maintains a list of
known or suspected problems with some vaccines.
