My son was diagnosed last Sept.96 with TM, one month after receiving a HepB
vaccine. His classmate also was recently diagnosed with TM, one month after
receiving a HepB vaccine. My son was affected from t-6 and started to move
his toes very slightly after about 10 days, eventually, with therapy, began
moving his right leg, then left.By the end of Oct. he could walk a short
distance with a walker and a knee immobilizer. By Dec. he could use crutches
and wore a full leg brace and by May he used a cane. Today he walks without
assistance but has trouble with balance and has a slight limp. His right leg
is still has sensory impairment and his bladder is still affected. His
friend has no feelings in either leg from the thighs downward, but is able to
move his left toe. He uses crutches and a wheelchair.
