Hello all. I've just joined the list and I've really no idea what to
expect. I was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis almost four years
ago. I've only had two exacerbations and what my old neurologist
referred to as MS noise (tingling and heavy legs periodically, but
never for a long period of time).

I recently moved and my new neurologist has told me that he is not
convinced that I have MS. He says that tranverse myelitis can occur
because of several causes, of which MS is one. So, I guess my first
question is where do I go from here? Is there a FAQ I can read? Can
anyone make more sense of what my doctor has said than I can?

Just FYI. I'm nearing 30 (two more weeks) and I'm a college
professor of sociology with a focus on medical sociology. I'm
usually not this ill-informed on medical issues, but this is
something I've not been exposed to. Looking forward to learning lots
of new stuff here (that is, if I'm inthe right place). Lynne
