First, Ellen I'm using a chair provided by the VA. It weighs 37.8 pounds
which I believe
is too heavy to lift easily. I have a 4 wheel walker with a small seat and a
basket to carry things.
It also has hand brakes to slow you down or they can lock the wheels. My
point is that it
weighs 17.5 pounds and I have difficultyt lifting it. I've just started to
look at Quickies. Sharon,
do you have any idea what the chair you are using weighs? If you have a
bunch of extra money,
they make a device that looks like a enclosed car top carrier. It has a
hoist that picks up your
chair, it is designed to pick up the one model of chair. It picks the chair
up, puts it in the car
top carrier and closes to keep the chair out of the weather and you can get
one installed for a
mere $2,900.00.

I'll keep you posted on my findings and hope you will also.
