When I was first diagnosed with TM, the neurologist asked if I had
experienced any flu-like symptoms before I became numb--I was advised that
the flu might have been the virus causing my TM. I guess it is a choice
beteen the flu vaccine which is a weakened form of the flu virus, or the
possibility of catching the flu with full blown virus.
The virus that caused my TM was not ever specifically determined.
