Twenty thousand people die of flu related illness a year. I'd get the
shot.
You cann't stick your head in the sand and ignore the benefits of
modern medicine. Just hope they can apply preventive medicine to TM some
day.

1. Where did the 20,000 figure come from, flu vaccine manufacturers? 2.
How many of those 20,000 persons were healthy individuals prior to them
developing these flu-related illnesses and, ultimately, death (I include
within this description persons who are otherwise healthy but have a history
of TM)? Is there some risk of me dying from a flu-related illness because I
have a history of TM?

I think it is far too simplistic to say that persons with TM and other
neurologic problems should avail themselves of vaccines in all circumstances
without examining the true risks involved with the administration of these
vaccines. If this were a discussion about whether someone without a history
of TM should receive the influenza (or other) vaccination, I might otherwise
agree with you.

I'd love to know where your figures come from.

Kevin.
