Julie: You are a great letter writer! Arizona is where I'd rather be this
Winter! Sounds like a great networking opportunity and we all expect a full
report when you get back. I am keeping abreast of the MS research because
demylinazation seems to be a comman factor. Those of us without a MS
diagnosis but definate disabilities watch with great interest.
General: 45 seems to be the age to be! I was 45 in May. TM hit in June. I
think a fall at work, where I landed on my left knee, preceeded my symptoms.
Luckily, I did document the incident and saw my GP two days after for a BP
check. The damage to my knee was so deep that it took a week before the
bruising came to the surface. Not a fall from a tree, or a car accident, but
since the spinal tap etc. have shown nothing, it's the only trauma I can
relate to the results.
Barbara: In my new job location I go by an acupunture clinic every day.
Have you tried it yet?
Carolyn: I'm in Ct not MA. My neuro is from UMASS. What's next? Good
question. My numbness and tingling has progressed up to my breasts. Still
dealing with not feeling my toes, but find that certain shoes make me feel
more comfortable and confident. I certainly will never buy a pair of high
heels! Been working hard to keep my legs in good condition. Used to do Thai
Chi daily but find the form frustrating now and just do the upper body forms
to relieve stress. Streching out my achilles tendon seems to help alot.
Actually had to run across the road today and it was a good feeling when I
got to the other side! Don't fell like running the N.Y. marathon today, but
am feeling more confident, as time progresses. Stairs are still a terror for
me though.
Jim: Happy belated birthday! You know you have affected many people in a
positive manner. I hope you get some satisfaction from your great internet
expertise! We have all gained much from your knowledge. My husband just
updated his computer and bought me a CD player(probably out of guilt). Music
certainly soothes the beast!
AL: Your letters are so very enlightening. Having no long history with this
disease, your input certainly does help. I certainly think that depression
is a common denominator in any life altering situation. My GP was very
understanding and ready to help. The anti-depressant i am taking(Zoloft) has
certainly helped me. Just asking for help was a big step for me because I've
always been a very self-sufficient person. But, I realized that days were
passing and I was not enjoying them. Life is short, and I want to enjoy
every day I have!
Nicole: Sounds like your neurologist blew you off. Get an other one. Be
more specific as to your questions. We all will give you the info we have.
Milk: Who started this anyway? I like milk but have used skim milk for
coffee etc. for about 4 yrs, before that we used 2% when my son lived at
home.
Beth: Never heard of UBI. Let us know what you find.
Chins Up! Donna
