Maureen,

I don't have any information myself, that's why I haven't written anything.
My condition is like a C2 quadriplegic, I'm totally paralyzed from the neck
down and dependent on a vent to breathe. I was diagnosed with Acute
Transverse Myelitis in 1989 after a MRI. I had another MRI last year and my
nerologist said the swelling had gone down.

When people ask me what happened, I tell them I basicly got sick. In my
case it happend in the matter of a few hours. The only warning sign I had
was a sore neck/shoulder that morning.

I've had some improvement as far as feeling but that has been all. At first
I had no feeling below my neck. I then started feeling the whole left side
of my body, my right leg, right side, right shoulder. I still only feel a
tingling feeling in my right hand when something rubs against it. I can
usually feel when my bladder is full and need to be cathed.
