Paralysis Resource Center Blog Squad

The Christopher and Dana Reeve Foundation established a Blog Squad to address a wide variety of topics of interest to the paralysis community.  Transverse myelitis is very well represented in this conversation.  Two of the people participating in the Paralysis Resource Center Blog Squad have transverse myelitis.

Kristi Allen was diagnosed with Lupus when she was just 10 years old and then was paralyzed from transverse myelitis when she was 15.  Kristi is 29 years old and she lives in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

Allen Rucker is a writer and lives with his wife, Ann Marie, in Los Angeles.  Allen got TM as an adult and wrote about his experience in the wonderful book, “The Best Seat in the House: How I Woke Up One Tuesday and Was Paralyzed for Life” (Harper-Collins 2007).  Allen is a contributing editor to New Mobility and chairman of the WGA Writers with Disabilities Committee.  Allen is very active in The Transverse Myelitis Association.  Through his many public speaking opportunities, Allen does a great job of raising awareness about TM. Allen is also a regular contributor to the TMA publications.
