Grupo de Suporte no Brasil  Mielite Transversa

Busco iniciar um Grupo de Suporte no Brasil, porque eu tenho um filho que teve Mielite transversa aos 7 anos  e hoje  ele faz uso de uma cadeira de rodas motorizada.

Neste período procurei me manter atualizada sobre os avanços em tratamentos, equipamentos, fisioterapias e pesquisas científicas, mesmo sem pertencer a área de saúde.

Neste sentido a Associação de Mielite Transversa muito me ajudou. Soube através do cadastro deles que existem cerca de 90 pessoas no  Brasil com TM, mas acredito que seja um número muito maior. Pretendo cadastrar o número real de pessoas que tiveram esta doença e repassar via WEB informações, agenda de eventos e cartas, em português, e o jornal provavelmente será   primeiramente repassado via site.
           
Com estes objetivos nós já estamos trabalhando com a nossa primeira página, a qual pretendemos paulatinamente ir ampliando.

TM Support Group in Brazil

I am starting a support group in Brazil.  I have a son who got Tranverse Myelitis in 1994 and he has been using a motorized wheel chair since then.

During this period of time, I have tried to keep myself updated on the new treatments, equipment, therapies and academic research, even though my degree is not from a health area.   

In this way, the TM Association has helped me a lot. I knew from their membership directory that there were about 90 people with TM in Brazil.  I believe that the numbers of people with TM in Brazil is much larger.  My goal is to help find more people with TM, to help them sign up for membership in the TMA, to help them find information on the web site and to translate information, agenda events and articles into Portuguese.  The journal will initially be distributed through the website.

With those objectives before us, we are already working on our Brazilian TM Support Group webpage.
