TMA Children’s and Family Workshop: Video Orders and Streaming
Video on the Web
The presentations at the Children’s and Family Workshop were excellent.
Parents were provided with critically important information on a wide range
of subjects from research on TM to symptom treatment to family issues. We
have prepared a ten-video set of the complete workshop presentations for
anyone who would like to order the tapes. If you would like to review the
program and the contents of the tape sets, please refer to the program agenda
on the Children’s and Family Workshop page on our web site. The video sets
follow the presentation schedule on the program agenda. The tapes cover the
entire program, from Thursday evening until Sunday afternoon; more than twenty
hours of information. The tapes are worth it just to see Pauline perform
the thirty-two step tai chi sword form.
The tapes have been priced to recover the costs of copying the tapes, the
packing materials and shipping. The differential price represents the shipping
rates to various countries around the world from Seattle. The price
identified includes your total cost, including the tapes, packing materials
and shipping. There is no handling fee; Paula said that even if she
holds a box of tapes all day, she will hold them for free.
If you live in the United States, the price of the tape set is: $75.
If you live in Canada, the price is: $90.
If you live anywhere in the European Union, the price is: $100.
If you live anywhere else in the world, the price is $110.
All of the tapes are in VHS NTSC format. If you live in a country that
uses PAL format for video tapes, you are going to need to have the tapes
converted after you receive them. We priced a converted PAL set and the lowest
cost we were able to find was $250. We thought the price for you would be
prohibitive, and are counting on your being able to convert them such that
the total cost is still under $250. We are sorry for the inconvenience.
You may order the sets from Paula Lazzeri. Please write your check
for the proper amount and please write the check for the amount in US dollars.
You are going to need to determine the conversion rate to figure the correct
amount. Please make your check payable to The Transverse Myelitis Association,
and please write Children’s Workshop Tapes on the check. You must
include the address where you want the tapes shipped and it is imperative
that you include complete address information and please write legibly. If
you have an email address, please include it with your information in the
event Paula needs to reach you. If you live in the US, please also include
your telephone number. Mail your order and check to:
Paula Lazzeri
10105 167th Place NE
Redmond, WA 98052
USA
You will be able to view the workshop presentations on the TMA web site.
Jim is in the process of preparing the tapes for streaming video. You can
view the taped presentations by navigating to the program agenda on the Children’s
and Family Workshop page. To view a presentation, click on the identified
link and the video will auto-load into RealPlayer. If you do not have
RealPlayer loaded on your computer, Jim has provided you a link to download
a free version of the program.
There are two discussion sessions from the workshop that will not appear
as streaming video on the web page. These were very informative question
and answer sessions that included personal information. We have included
these sessions on the tape sets because we all agreed, including the parents
who participated, that this was important information to share with other
families who have a child with TM. It would not, however, be appropriate
to include this information on our web site.
If you have any questions about the tape orders, you can reach Paula by email
or phone at: plazzeri[AT SIGN]aol.com or (425)883-7914.
We would like to thank Geoffrey Cutler and Matthew Ball of Family Treasures
for taping the TMA Children’s and Family Workshop presentations. The
donation of their time and expertise is greatly appreciated. I would
also like to extend our appreciation to Chris and Michelle Powell of Tullyvision
for taking on the job of editing and reproducing the tape sets. They took
on the job on very short notice and they have made a very generous donation
to the TMA to help cover the cost of some of their valuable work.
