How to Contribute to the
Transverse Myelitis Association

The Transverse Myelitis Association is a registered non-profit organization in the State of Washington and is recognized by the U.S. Internal Revenue Service as an 501(c)(3) organization. As such, your donation is tax deductible to the extent provided by U.S. law. If you reside outside of the U.S., please check your local tax office for any potential benefit.

There are no membership dues required of TMA members, and we would like to maintain this policy for the Association. It is our goal to have sufficient funds to perform the work of the Association through voluntary contributions and some form of institutional funding. Contributions will be used to provide membership support, education and research for a cure to the neurological condition of Transverse Myelitis.

In Memory or Honor Donations

A caring way to honor someone special or recognize an occasion. If you would like to make a donation in memory of a loved one or in honor of a person's birthday or anniversary (or other occasions), please just add a note with the person's and/or family's name and address. The TMA will send an acknowledgement of your donation to the appropriate parties.

Matching Donations

You may be able to double or even triple your contribution if you work for a company that matches employee gifts. Many companies encourage employees to support non-profit organizations like the Transverse Myelitis Association by offering to match employer donations. Your employer may have a program like this. Please see your Human Resources department to see if your company has such a matching gift program. Even companies without formal programs will often provide contributions to charitable organizations in which employees are involved. See a list of a few companies that match donations

Donate by Credit Card USA only	Credit card (Visa, MasterCard, American Express or Discover) donations can be made online through Network for Good using a secure server.
Donate by PayPal USA and Worldwide	Donate online with PayPal using your Checking Account or Credit Card. You can also use a credit card to donate through PayPal even if you are not a member. PayPal will show you the current exchange rate, the equivalent amount in your Primary Currency (if not U.S. Dollars) and handle the conversion for you.

Recycle Printer Cartridges

Collect empty printer cartridges (inkjet, laser, fax machine, and copier cartridges) from your school, workplace, and community and earn money for the Transverse Myelitis Association. Regester at recycle.myelitis.org

Donate Used Cell Phones

You can donate cell phones to help raise funds! Gather up used cell phones. Ask your friends and family if they have ideas to help. The value of the cellphone will be donated to the Transverse Myelitis Association. Click the Cell Phone Donation button to print your postage paid shipping label. Tape the label to a USPS Priority Mail Flat Rate Box and give it to your Postal Carrier or request a Carrier Pickup.  Please use these labels on Priority Mail Flat Rate Boxes only.
